Antatomy by Ella Mobbs and Tim Sweetapple is a free calligraphic script with a raw, distressed finish. Its sweeping capitals and long flourishes are repeatedly scratched and doubled, turning formal penmanship into something unruly and theatrical.
It suits fashion labels and music brands drawn to ornate lettering with a darker, handmade edge. The same tangled strokes can give album covers and event posters the look of ink that has been worked over rather than carefully polished. In editorial design, it is especially apt for dramatic magazine openers, where the restless linework can become part of the page's illustration.
