Esthajnal by Roland Huse is a free runic display font with a stark, carved quality and uneven line weight. Its tall, narrow signs combine spear-like angles and open wedges with occasional loops, diamonds, or crossed forms. Stroke treatment ranges from roughly scored marks to clean geometric lines, yet the upright proportions keep the set coherent.
Its archaic rune character makes it well suited to historical games, folk-metal album artwork, and mythology-themed book covers. The symbols can also become part of map emblems or ritual props in fantasy publishing, where their sharp construction supports stories about old inscriptions, lost languages, and ceremonial objects.

ESTHAJNALCSILLAG means “Hesperus” in Hungarian. This is my third typeface in this series; the others are Hargita and Hun Legion.
This type of writing used only capital letters, so the lowercase character positions contain eroded versions of these letters.
This font is free for personal use only.
