Festival Jomfruer Chunky by Rashid Akrim is a free distorted display font with broad, uneven capitals and a lively cut-paper silhouette. Stroke widths shift from letter to letter, and the bowed sides and blunt joins keep the forms deliberately off-kilter rather than polished.
Themes of street festivals and handmade celebration suit its rough, upbeat drawing. It can give music posters, event branding, and food packaging a loud informal voice, with enough mass for prominent names. The irregular contours also connect neatly with collage, torn-paper graphics, and playful illustration, letting the lettering become part of the artwork.

The font was used for some headings and introductory text in the NRK P3 online series Festival Jomfruer (“Festival Virgins”). After drawing many letters for the series, I created a font from them. The font is free. Credit is appreciated.
