Koenig-Type, created by Heinz Koenig and digitized by Dieter Steffmann, is a free Jugendstil blackletter font with broad, hand-shaped strokes. Its swelling curves, clipped points, and uneven contours soften the medieval structure with a distinctly Art Nouveau flourish.
That turn-of-the-century blend is especially convincing for historical posters and book covers, where the lettering can suggest period craft without looking strictly traditional.
