Okuda is based on the computer lettering system (LCARS) created by Mike Okuda for Star Trek: The Next Generation. It includes the full alphabet, extended punctuation, the euro symbol, and bold, italic, and bold-italic styles.

Version 3.60, 1 December 2015, included improved kerning and Mac compatibility.

Version 3.70, 19 April 2016, included:

- Added Polish letters
- Normalized bounds for computer displays
- Fixed numerous minor glyph issues
- Added completely new kerning
