PaperCut by Alexandre Maltais of PYRS Fontlab Ltd. is a free futuristic display font shaped by severe geometric cuts. Broad letterforms become stark silhouettes, with triangular notches and narrow rectangular openings supplying most of their internal detail. The effect is spare and cryptic.

Those cut-paper gaps can echo folded panels, technical diagrams, and hard-edged collage in poster design and electronic music packaging. They also give game interfaces and science-fiction event graphics a system of arrows, slots, and wedges, turning the lettering into part of the surrounding iconography.
