Piracy

Piracy, Jakob Fischer’s free eroded caps display font, has the weathered, sea-beaten look of lettering scraped by salt, wind, and rough printing. The letters keep a classic serif skeleton, but their ragged edges and chipped outlines give the alphabet a scruffy, old-broadside character that feels more scavenged than polished.

This free font makes sense for pirate-themed posters, adventure book covers, Halloween flyers, tavern menus, and game title cards where the distressed texture does much of the mood-setting. It also works nicely in short headlines, chapter openers, and monograms, because the worn silhouette stays expressive even when the wording is brief.
