Throrian Commonface by Bill Roach is a free medieval Gothic display font with the restless shape of hand-cut storybook lettering. Broad strokes narrow abruptly into hooked feet and sharp tips, and uneven proportions give the letters an unruly silhouette.
It can turn a fantasy title into part of the setting itself. Its theatrical quality suits role-playing covers, festival posters, and folk-metal merchandise tied to castles, legends, or old manuscripts. On tavern signage or event badges, the crooked letters can function like an illustrated emblem rather than ordinary text.

"Throrian Commonface" is a hand drawn type set loosely based upon the lettering styles found upon the literary maps of author J.R.R. Tolkien - but this letter set is NOT a direct duplication of any pre-existing typesets, either created by J.R.R. Tolkien - or any other author. It is also inspired by traditional Gaelic and Germanic gothic / medieval lettering styles and illuminated scripts.
